Start an aqueous Centella study with the right material
A water-based cosmetic brief needs an ingredient choice that makes sense in its vehicle. PINHONBIO® Water-Soluble Centella Total Glycosides 80% provides a named glycoside system with a documented water-solubility observation, giving the formulator a clearer starting point for incorporation trials.
The development value lies in connecting the grade name to its composition and behavior. Both should stay attached to the sample record when the material moves from a simple water trial into a complete cosmetic base.
Three glycosides make up the stated total
For this grade, total triterpene glycosides means the combined content of Asiaticoside, Madecassoside and Asiaticoside B. It is not an 80% claim for any one of those compounds, nor a declaration of their individual proportions.
| Item | Confirmed information |

| Extraction solvents | Ethanol and water |
| INCI | Centella Asiatica Extract |
| Assay specification | ≥80% total triterpene glycosides by HPLC |
| Counted glycosides | Asiaticoside, Madecassoside and Asiaticoside B |
| Appearance | Off-white powder |
| Solubility in supplied COA | Good solubility in water; conforms by visual assessment |
Keep the grade and batch result separate
The supplied COA reports 81.35% against the ≥80% total-glycosides requirement. The former describes that batch result; the latter describes the acceptance criterion. Use the relevant batch result when calculating the nominal total-glycoside loading in a trial.
If the study requires a defined amount of a single glycoside, obtain its individual analytical result. The combined total alone cannot tell the formulator how much Madecassoside or Asiaticoside enters the prototype.
Water solubility is a starting observation
The COA gives a qualitative water-solubility result. It does not provide a numerical saturation limit or a validated solubility curve across temperature and pH. Choose trial conditions around the intended formula and document them.
Begin with the proposed incorporation vehicle, then add the rest of the base and observe the final system. Electrolytes, other actives and the selected process are part of that study. Check uniformity, clarity where relevant and precipitation over storage, including the intended pack.
Where the development brief fits
An aqueous serum, lotion or water-phase emulsion study can use this grade to investigate incorporation of the defined glycoside system. These are candidate formulation formats, rather than validated recipes or a prescribed use level.
For a Centella skin-comfort concept, define the intended cosmetic endpoint separately and assess the finished formula. The glycoside assay and water-solubility observation support material selection; they do not establish finished-product efficacy or tolerability.
Specify the water-soluble grade in the request
Request the water-soluble 80% grade explicitly, together with its current specification, TDS, SDS and corresponding batch COA. Keep it distinct from TECA and other total-glycosides options. Include the intended vehicle, process and appearance target so the sample evaluation addresses the actual formulation question.
